About SCPM SCPM (Strategic Credit Portfolio Management) is part of IBMO (Investment Bank Middle Office), Securitized Products Operations group. The group is responsible for monitoring the trade flow between front and back trade capture systems. SCPM transacts in securitized products and legacy assets including MBS, CMOs, CMBS, ABS, CDS, Libor Swaps, and Loans. The group is responsible for reviewing front to back trade flow, affirmation of client trades, and monitoring and processing of trade lifecycle events. The group identifies flow issues that may result in misreporting (Financial, Regulatory, Risk) and introduce settlement, credit, and funding risk to Barclays. The group is responsible for overseeing trade flows for multiple Barclays legal entities and its customers. The group has direct oversight of managing various system flows and exception queues associated with Trade Capture Platforms, Middleware and Settlement Systems.
Overall Purpose of role To ensure front to back trade flow, risk representation in trade capture systems are complete, timely and accurate, economic details of trades are checked out with counterparties. Act as a liaison between trading desk, banking and infrastructure areas.
Your Role (Key Accountabilities) • Central point of contact between the Front Office and the other operations infrastructure group, such as Settlements, Security Static Data, Asset Servicing, Treasury and Liquidity Management, and Risk and Control. • Facilitate the execution of a New Issue by working with banking and syndicate trading to obtain DTC eligibility and close the deal • Affirm economic details of trades on T0 • Follow up on failed trades and reconfirm economic details with counterparties. Work with settlements and Transaction Capture Utility(TCU) to clear failing trades • Monitor real time transaction flow, trade updates, and exception queues to ensure timely and accurate trade representation in the front office systems and trade flow to the back office systems • Coordinate with various Settlements groups to resolve any trade settlement, cash and stock breaks, security set up or matching issues • Answer internal and external client trade enquiries • Produce MI reports for transaction volumes and key control metrics
*Basic Qualifications/Skills * • Bachelors Degree • 2 years experience in a financial services firm • 2 years Securitized Products experience
Preferred Qualifications/Skills • Thorough understanding of Fixed Income Instruments and the life cycle of the trade including: coupons, accrual periods, factors, amortizations and securitizations • Excellent problem solving, technical, written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills • Must be detail oriented and be able to multitask • Diligent and able to work in a fast paced high pressure environment with tight deadlines • Ability to coordinate with various teams in order to action exceptions and ad hoc inquiries • Able to work independently as well as be a team player • Familiarity with excel is a must, as well as the ability to quickly learn new applications
