Sanofi Group Senior Manager, Specialty Insights & Operations in Bridgewater, New Jersey

This position is responsible for establishing and implementing the specialty pharmacy operational plan that seeks to increase throughput, time to fill, and ultimately provide a seamless patient journey from initial prescription to dispensed product. Further, this role will look to develop specialty pharmacy metrics, KPIs, and performance scorecards by analyzing the patient journey data to measure impact, success and key deliverables and drive portfolio performance within the specialty & channel. This position will work cross-functionally with the Alliance (including FAS, HUB & PAP pharmacy) to influence goals, objectives and priorities including daily, weekly and monthly operational goals/metrics of the SPs. Partnering with (and at times guiding) analytics and data reporting teams to build best-in-class SP benchmarking & reporting will be critical in having the SPs understand & improve how they are performing across the network. The Field Specialty Lead will also be in position to assist the channel strategy teams on distribution models and alternate points of access in Tier 2 or retail-owned SPs. This role will play a crucial part in collaborating with customer-facing teams to gain feedback & field insights to ultimately have more productive two-way dialogue with the specialty pharmacies. Further, being able to leverage market access payer decisions to increase & maximize throughput across PBM, payer, independent, and retail owned SPs will require the Specialty Lead to stay abreast of payer decisions and UM criteria.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop operational objectives & assist in strategy to maximize sanofi portfolio performance in the specialty channel

  • Develop reporting mechanisms and key indicators to clearly communicate brand performance in the channel (speed to therapy, throughput, patient adherence & experience)

  • Analyze specialty pharmacy and product data to consistently communicate business metrics in support of strategic objectives

  • Proactively monitor & interpret business performance in collaboration / alignment with the data & business analytics teams

  • Ensure critical customer and business insights are communicated to brand management, USMA, sales leadership and senior management across the Alliance; recommend solutions and corrective tactics as needed to the SP and HUB leadership teams

  • Take part in SP weekly calls with the Alliance teams to assist in the push through of cases ready to move further and ultimately to dispense in the patient journey

  • Assist the SP account management teams to prepare for routine customer business reviews

  • Work closely with the FAS team to identify and focus on cases requiring further support at the HCP office

  • Role model and contribute towards strengthening our ethics and compliance culture, and awareness of Sanofi’s code of conduct

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university required

  • Clinical or healthcare experience with strong business acumen (e.g., MBA, extensive industry experience) is strongly preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years commercial pharmaceutical experience

  • Specialty Pharmacy experience strongly preferred

  • Minimum of 1-2 years account management experience preferred

  • Consulting or equivalent experience also considered

Professional Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong business acumen with an ability to manipulate & analyze robust levels of data and further summarize key insights to develop & deliver executive level presentations

  • Operations experience in guiding teams to execute & pull through against actionable tactical plans and further self-impose tight deadlines to overachieve on deliverables

  • Broad understanding of the US healthcare environment especially within the Market Access functions; understanding of payer hurdles – PA, SE, UM criteria

  • Launch experience with specialty products in various distribution models (limited, preferred, open)

  • Brand / product marketing knowledge to help provide insights & feedback on tools and tactics during multiple product launches for the specialty channel

  • Sales leadership or management experience in the pharmaceutical / biotech space

  • Networking capabilities to learn from and work with different teams, departments, customers and vendors
